Caister Lifeboat was paged by Humber Coastguard yesterday at 17:58 to assist a yacht which was taking on a small amount of water and diesel leaking in the engine bay / cabin compartment just off Sea Palling. Sea Palling Lifeboat were also paged to the incident. 2 of our crew members boarded the vessel with pumps, to give any medical assistance and take the helm of the yacht during the tow from Sea Palling to Great Yarmouth Harbour. 3 people on board and 1 dog. 1 casualty was treated for sickness due to diesel fumes. We were greeted by HM Coastguard Gorleston patrol officers who assisted in mooring the vessel alongside the quay at Great Yarmouth town hall. With nowhere to stay, our chairman Paul Garrod offered them a night at the Furzedown Hotel... on air-beds in the TV room as the hotel was fully booked.
