A yacht was spotted close to the Scroby sand bank by our former coxswain Paul Williams, who was concerned it had run aground. Coxswain
Guy Gibson called Humber Coastguard which tasked us to launch. At 16:50 the pagers went off. The inshore lifeboat, crewed by Tommy Williams and Greg Carter set off first, quickly followed by the all-weather lifeboat with Guy Gibson, Laurence Billington, Jonathan Ringwood, Alex Low and Jack Atkinson on board. On arrival the yacht was back afloat, our crew gave safety advice on where the sandbanks were and they went on their way safely.
